A man was taken to a local hospital yesterday after he was struck in a crosswalk in the parking lot of the Hewitt Wal-Mart store.

The accident happened Monday afternoon after 3:00 p.m.

The unidentified man suffered a knee injury when he was thrown onto the hood of the vehicle.

According to witnesses at the scene, the woman driving the car that struck him was stalking on her cell phone at the time of the accident.
